6. The Algorithm

1.Hundred curves were drawn out of the random numbers tables.

Beginning at any place on the tables, the numbers were transformed one after the other into coordinates.

For each curve the amount of random numbers involved was dependent on the first number hit.

e.g.:

03 47 43 73 86 36 96 47 36 61 46 98 63 75 62 33 26 16 80 45
1st 2nd curve 3rd curve 4th curve 5th curve
60 11 14 10 85 97 74 24 67 62 42 81 14 57 20 42 53 32 37 ...&c...
6th curve 7th curve 8th curve ...&c...

Each curve is numbered from 00 to 99.

2. The 360 degrees protractor is divided into 16 angles.

Each angle has a set of numbers attached to it.

from 00 to 06 : angle 22º5

from 07 to 12 : angle 45º

from 13 to 18 : angle 67º.5

………………….

from 94 to 99 : angle 360º

 3. A web is drawn out of these curves and angles.

The random numbers tables are read and one after the other a curve and an angle is taken, depending on the numbers hit.

e.g.:

Angle 202º5 Angle 225º Angle 270º Angle 225º ...&c
17 53 77 58 71 71 41 61 51...&c
curve #17 curve #77 curve #71 curve #41 curve #51...&c

(For the template #4, circa 2000 numbers were used.)
