17. "Group of the Possibles"

It is a group of paintings that is meant to be seen in the dark. Then it glows.

It furthers my interest in darkness and shadow, the fun of playing with the very concept of enlightenment vs. obscurity in visual arts.

The painting may as well be seen in the light, but evidently presents a whole other face.

The 55 pieces were cut on template #4 by asking whether or not to keep each shape enclosed in the lines of the web.

Each piece was then given a specific thickness according to chance.

All pieces were painted with phosphorescent paint.

It is a group of paintings that exists as a whole, but which might be sold to different collectors, so as to scatter it further in space. The idea is to enact a mutual understanding between those individuals in order to get back the whole as a metaphor of utopia.
