15. "Space Notchers" and "Color Casters"

The title "space notcher"indicates that although they look bi-dimensional, these works do create a notch of shadow in the space, and thus are considered sculptures.

It is interesting to note that this refers to the idea of skiagraphy( the writing of shadows) put forth by Longin in his treatise on painting.

Thus we have two ambivalent painting characteristics determining these sculptures.

They were drawn out of the template #4 by drawing a line from bottom up with instructions provided by the random-numbers tables and the necessity of keeping the direction.

The "color caster" have been further painted on one of their sides with fluorescent paint(blue, red or yellow) according to chance.
